HOO do we hope to be?
Holding our Own (HOO) recognises the need for parents, friends, family and whanau of LGBTQ to create a safe space to celebrate, support and Hold Our Own. We support diversity, HOO includes both gender identified and diverse sexual orientation, we include everyone.
Holding Our Own not only means a soft place for our families to land but also it talks about taking a stand for our whanau – lets do this together.
The African belief that “It takes a village to raise a child”, for us means growing a village that offers respect, dignity and equality to all our families and their members. We open our group to all who share and support our vision. Change can begin to happen at a grassroots level.
